Just before 11:15am on Wednesday May 11, 2016 a call was dispatched for a structure fire at 26 Bullins Ave in Wayne with the report of animals trapped in the basement. First responding units reported a heavy smoke condition and a second alarm was struck, adding Company 3 to the call. Once the first crews made entry and discovered the seat of the fire it had spread to the attic space and a third alarm was called for manpower. Engine 5-1, Engine 5-2, and Rescue 5 responded with Rescue 5’s crew serving as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team). By 11:40am all visible fire had been knocked down and all animals were accounted for. Overhaul was performed and no injures were reported.
